Paul Watson
Because I see signs like this every day in France, it would be weird for this travelogue to ignore them.
Watson is a Canadian-American ship captain who was arrested on the basis of an Interpol "red notice" issued by Japan while he refueled in Greenland on his way to interfere with a Japanese whaling expedition.
Currently in a Danish jail, he is asking for asylum in France.
Japan, which has been in violation of an international whaling ban for nearly 40 years, insists its "traditional food culture" must be upheld.
There you have it. Archivists of the future, take note.
